Opinion| Steven Ahle| Democrats all agree on one thing. President Trump is very responsible. Whenever a Democrat does something incredibly stupid they simply blame it on the president.
Take Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms as an example. She twice marched with the lawless ‘protesters’ from BLM and when they took over University Avenue and pointed guns at white people who tried to drive down the street, she did nothing.
Even after an innocent eight year old girl was shot, killing her, she did not try to immediately force the demonstrators and agitators to disburse, she just asked them to please leave. Less than 24 hours later they shot three men, leaving one dead. What did Bottoms do? Nothing. her incompetence knows no bounds.
At least she condemned the girls death and those responsible stating:
‘”Secoriea Turner was shot and killed last night, and it was not at the hands, by the hands of a police officer,” she said. “It was by the hands of a coward, cowards, who are still out and about in our community.”‘
“But the difference in this moment in time and the civil rights movement, the civil rights movement there was a defined common enemy,” she said. “So, we’re fighting the enemy within when we are shooting each other up on our streets in this city and you shot and killed a baby. And it wasn’t one shooter, there were at least two shooters. An 8-year-old baby. If you want people to take us seriously and you don’t want us to lose this movement, then we can’t lose each other.”
Then she tries to pass the buck and blame Trump for the little girl’s death.
Brooke Baldwin asked Bottoms:
“I want to just get right to Secoriea, 8 years of age. You said it over the weekend. She was a baby. How could this happen?”
Bottoms replied dishonestly:
“I was listening to [Chicago] Mayor [Lori] Lightfoot, she summed it up. We talk about systemic racism and the trauma and anxiety and all these things that are happening in our communities. And it is this convergence.”
“And I hate to use the word a perfect storm, but it’s where we are in this country right now. And you think about the leadership or the lack thereof that we have coming from the highest office in the land. I think that you are seeing so many emotions play out. And so, too often, it’s playing out in violence in our streets.”
If she wants the president to take over Atlanta, why doesn’t she do the city a favor and resign. It was she who promoted the rioters, marching with them and refusing to take action against their violence.
Fortunately the governor Brian Kemp recognized the problem was the lack of leadership Bottoms has been displaying and he dispatched 1,000 National Guard troops to try and clean up her mess.
