Opinion| Mark Sidney| The Washington Examiner is reporting that Senator Rand Paul was approached, confronted and harassed by an authoritarian (I refuse to call people who try to use intimidation and violence, liberals any longer) ‘protester’ while dining at a California restaurant. The only issue I take with the report is that I wouldn’t call this type of behavior ‘protesting’ I would call it harrassment.
“While having lunch with RandPaul in California, we got verbally assaulted by these aggressive libs complaining about incivility. Check out the vid! #unhinged,” Sergio Gor, the Senator’s deputy chief of staff, explained on Twitter this past Friday.
The beginning of the video shows a woman flicking off the camera, seeming to try to open her own cell phone camera.
“You just ran into two people from New York, kiddo, and we’re not putting up with your Republican bulls–t,” the woman can be heard yelling. The woman seems to be one of those compassionate, caring, loving kind, ‘liberals’ that we are always hearing about on the TV ‘news.’
The camera moves to a man who seems to be have a conversation with Paul, saying that they don’t have “much in common.” The gentleman is likely right, as no one I know in our movement would be have behaved, or have been seen with someone who behaved the way that, oh so brave, gentle, kind and humane, woman in the video did.
“We are Americans,” the man can be heard saying at the end of the clip. In all fairness, we do not see much of the man in the clip, and he seems to be (from what the video shows) trying to have a rational discussion with Senator Paul. The man in the oh so epic shirt, is heard saying that “I am an American.” I will take him at his word, and he has every right to confront a Senator with whom he disagrees, our Constitution is based on this principle.
I only take issue with the threatening demeanor of the woman seen in the video. It’s a shame that she was not able to control her emotions and had to resort to elementary school playground like behavior.

The Kentucky Senator tweeted out the video from his Twitter page with the caption, “The left blames incivility on @realDonaldTrump. Watch this video and decide who the rude ones are.”

According to the Washington Examiner, “During the 2018 confirmation hearings of Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh, Paul was chased down by protesters at D.C.’s airport demanding he vote against the future justice’s nomination. The senator eventually voted ‘yes.'”
Take a look at the following report from the Examiner:
I support the man in the dank T-shirt’s efforts to have a dialogue with a public official with whom he disagrees, however, it is when people behave such as the woman seen in the video did, that the divide in our nation grows deeper.
While I do not see many people who are supportive of President Trump behaving this way, I will be the first to condemn them if I do, as they do more to hurt our cause than help it. I know I don’t need to say this, but remember, everyday when you are out in public you are the front lines of the movement to Make America Great Again, you are an ambassador to our cause and I hope you take that as seriously as I think you do.
Only together can we drain the swamp, restore pride in our nation and heal the divide that the media has fomented. Sorry if this is sounded like a lecture, I know most, if not all people reading this already do these things, in which case, carry on brothers and sisters!
