Opinion – Sidney, Mark – Imagine what would happen if we were to catch a Democrat in a lie about their dealings and meetings with, say, a Russian Ambassador. That would be something wouldn’t it. I’m sure it never could or would happen, as the Democratic Party is the party of truth, honor, honesty, integrity, and just ask the media, they never do anything untoward.
I mean, we all know that the Democrats have never done a single unethical deed in their collective lives and speculating about them doing something wrong is just a waste of time, right? WRONG.
I’m going to take you back to the old school, because I’m an old fool, who’s so cool … well not that far back, how about 2017, March 3rd to be exact.
Do you remember when Politico, yes Politico, who I have to hand it to, they have been covering some stories that most left wing (IMHO Politico has a left agenda, which they are entitled to have, and I do not think I am alone in this assumption) would not touch with a 10 foot pole. Now, let’s dig in.
Do you remember while the ‘Russian Collusion” ‘hoax’ raged on, Politico hung Nancy Pelosi out to dry … BIGLY.
So here are the goods, via Politico: “House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said Friday that she’s never met with the current Russian ambassador, Sergey Kislyak.
“Not with this Russian ambassador, no,” Pelosi told POLITICO’s Jake Sherman and Anna Palmer during a Playbook interview, when asked whether she had ever met with the Russian envoy.
But a file photo (above) from Pelosi’s 2010 meeting with Russian President Dmitry Medvedev shows Kislyak at the table across from Pelosi — then House speaker — and Rep. Steny Hoyer (D-Md.). Medvedev had been in the country for a meeting with President Barack Obama a day earlier and stopped in on Capitol Hill to meet with congressional leaders as well.
Asked to square Pelosi’s comments with the photo of the meeting, a spokesman said Pelosi simply meant she never had a solo meeting with Kislyak.
“Of course, that’s what she meant,” said the spokesman, Drew Hammill. “She has never had a private one-on-one with him.”
Of course, that’s what you meant, but why would anyone believe you now? Imagine if President Trump has said he never met with the Russian Ambassador and then a photo surfaced proving he was full of …, what do you think would happen? Impeachment? Prison? Public hanging on paper view?
Trump took to Twitter (start using Spreely.com, sir!) to rub it in.
After Trump blasted Pelosi with the above Tweet, Pelosi tried to strike back, as the empire often does, with a tweet or her own, along with an another statement from her spokesman.
“Leader Pelosi’s answer to the question today was clearly about private, one-on-one meetings, which she has never had with Ambassador Kislyak,” Hammill responded. “The Ambassador was incidental to the 2010 meeting between then-Russian President Medvedev and then-Speaker Pelosi. Clearly, one needs to remind Politico that Attorney General Sessions lied under oath about a secret meeting amidst Russia’s hacking of our election, which he also didn’t disclose in a written questionnaire.”
However, Pelosi was not the only, holy Democrat to slip on this banana peel. Democrat McCaskill feel on the same oil slick.
Politico, to their credit covered it well:
McCaskill, a Missouri Democrat, tweeted that in her 10 years on the Armed Services Committee, she had received “No call or meeting w/Russian ambassador. Ever.”
But after confronted with a pair of her own tweets from 2013 and 2015 in which she described a meeting and call with Kislyak, McCaskill walked back her comment.
“The Russian ambassador never called me. The Russian ambassador has never asked for a meeting with me,” McCaskill told reporters, adding, “you cannot say that having a one-on-one meeting with the Russian ambassador was a common thing to occur.”
Just in case you were wondering if the Democrats ever lie, as their record since Trump was elected has been nearly perfect as far as advancing the correct narratives (lol) it appears they do, sometimes, every once in a blue moon, get confused and accidental misunderstand a direct question and respond in a fashion that some could call a …. dare I say it, LIE.
