Elder Patriot’s Opinion – On Monday morning, US Rep. Liz Cheney tweeted a clip of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) appearing on CBS News 60 Minutes.
.@SpeakerPelosi said on 60 Minutes last night she knew the details of the classified Ukraine call before White House released transcript. This is starting to seem like a political set up. So, Madame Speaker, “what did you know and when did you know it?” pic.twitter.com/g5tlL5hBsX

Pelosi appears to admit that she knew what was in the transcript of a July 25 Trump phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky prior to the release of the transcript of the call by the White House.
Editor’s Note: To be clear, I am sure Pelosi has a very high security clearance, but I am unsure of whether or not she should, legally, have access to the transcripts of the President’s calls.
According to a report in the New York Times, Trump called Pelosi and they discussed the president’s phone call with Zelensky on Tuesday, September 24th. However, the White didn’t release the transcript until the 25th.
During the interview, Pelosi said that during the call with Trump, “He told me it was perfect. There was nothing in the call. But I know what was in the call. I mean, we — it was in the public domain.”
There’s only one problem, when Trump and Pelosi spoke on Tuesday, the call was not yet “in the public domain.”
Did Pelosi just get caught admitting to spying on the President’s calls, or obtaining a transcript surreptitiously?
Either the Speaker was lying to advance the narrative that was, IMHO, debunked when the White House released the transcript, or the, in my view, unlawful surveillance of Trump, that seemingly began under Obama, and continued early in Trump’s presidency, is still going on.
Evidence is already beginning to surface indicating that this is just the beginning of something much bigger.
Yesterday, investigative journalist Aaron Klein reported that House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff’s staffer, Thomas Eager, had visited Ukraine only last month. Schiff is now running the Dems’ latest impeachment scheme.
According to Klein:
The dates of the pre-planned trip are instructive. Eager’s visit to Ukraine sponsored by the Burisma-funded Atlantic Council began 12 days after the so-called whistleblower officially filed his August 12 complaint about President Donald Trump’s phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
Burisma is the natural gas company at the center of allegations regarding Joe Biden and his son, Hunter Biden.
Another member of the eleven member rapid response team for the Ukrainian Election Task Force, which contends it is working to expose “foreign interference in Ukraine’s democracy” is David J. Kramer, a long-time adviser to late Senator John McCain.
Of course this is not proof of any wrongdoing, at least not anymore than Michael Cohen’s non-trip to Prague was proof of anything. But, we know this trip did indeed take place and is at least worth looking into.
This past Thursday, former CIA analyst Fred Fleitz addressed the overly legalistic whistleblower complaint, and what it means, in a New York Post op-ed:
I am troubled by the complaint and wonder how an intelligence officer could file it over something a president said to a foreign leader. How could this be an intelligence matter?
It appears likely to me that this so-called whistleblower was pursuing a political agenda.
I am very familiar with transcripts of presidential phone calls since I edited and processed dozens of them when I worked for the NSC. I also know a lot about intelligence whistleblowers from my time with the CIA.
My suspicions grew this morning when I saw the declassified whistleblowing complaint. It appears to be written by a law professor and includes legal references and detailed footnotes. It also has an unusual legalistic reference on how this complaint should be classified.
From my experience, such an extremely polished whistleblowing complaint is unheard of. This document looks as if this leaker had outside help, possibly from congressional members or staff.
It appears that President Trump upended the Pelosi-Schiff impeachment scheme when he ordered the release of the transcript of his call with Zelensky. They never thought he would do that.
Once the transcript of the Trump-Zelensky call was released Pelosi and Schiff were caught with their pants down and the scheme collapsed, as I see it.
Still, Pelosi and Schiff refuse to acknowledge the futility of this charade. With the DOJ IG report and US Attorney John Durham’s findings expected to be released in the coming weeks, desperate times cause people to do desperate things.
