Opinion| It was bound to happen. Who would have guessed it would be in an another leftist city? There is blood on the hands of the so called ‘leadership’ of these cities and states where law enforcement are prevented from handling these situations.
I’m not sure who does not understand this, but streets are for cars, and sidewalks are for people. If you want to shut down a street and demonstrate you can pull a permit, just like the rest of the civilized world does.
That being said, it is tragic that a young man is dead, shot to death on the streets of Austin, Texas, a once safe city.
Cassandra Fairbanks of The Gateway Pundit explained:
‘Garrett Foster, the Black Lives Matter protester fatally shot by a motorist in Austin on Saturday night, said on camera that the “people who hate us” are “too big of p-ssies to actually do anything about it” when asked why he was carrying a rifle.
The Austin Police said during a late night press conference that Foster was carrying a rifle and may have approached the vehicle prior to the shooting. The shooter was detained and is cooperating with police.
“One adult male victim was located with a gunshot wound,” the press officer said, before confirming he passed away at the hospital shortly after. “Initial reports indicate that the victim may have been carrying a rifle and approached the suspect vehicle. Suspect was in the vehicle and shot at the victim. Suspect was detained and is cooperating with officers.”’
An unverified twitter user by the name of Savion For Texas tweeted this nonsense (it’s a semi-auto AK-47 style rifle, not an AR-15, leftists do not believe in you and I having second amendment rights as far as I can tell, and do not lump libertarians like me in with these crazy people who think they want a Marxist revolution):
‘People are now victim blaming Garrett Foster for having his AR with him.
Texas is an open carry state, Leftists/Libertarians believe in the 2nd amendment, I see a man who has great trigger discipline and who loves his Black wife enough to say #BlackLivesMatter #AustinProtest‘

Yeah, Texas is an open carry state, open carry is great … most of the time. Do you know when it is not a good time to open carry?
When you are part of a mob breaking the law, walking in the road, after weeks of footage circulating on TV and the internet of cars being smashed and people beaten in ‘protests’ like the one you are participating in. Especially when concealed carry is allowed in Texas and many drivers carry guns in their vehicles, and now more than ever with the unhinged mobs roving the streets.
When asked by a live-streamer, what kind of weapon he was carrying, Garrett replied that it was an “AK-47.”
“They don’t let us march in the streets anymore, so I got to practice some of our rights,” he went on.
Here is what the victim said when asked it he thought he would need to use it:
“Nah,” he said. “I mean, if I use it against the cops I’m dead. I think all the people that hate us and want to say shit to us are too big of p-ssies to stop and actually do anything about it.”
His reason for carrying a weapon? his roommate got locked up and “they wouldn’t let us march anywhere.”
The GWP went on ‘The incident was captured on Facebook Live. It appeared that the crowd was blocking traffic and possibly surrounding the car prior to the shooting.’
Hiram Gilberto, the person who was filming the livestream wrote in a subsequent Facebook post that “I was no more ten feet from the shooter and running towards his car. It was TOO CLOSE. Currently on my way to give a witness statement to APD. KEEP THOSE AFFECTED IN YOUR THOUGHTS.”

I don’t want to see anyone get shot. Period. I also do not have enough information to tell you who I think was wrong here, it could go either way depending on what transpired before the shooting. I can tell you that if you are part of a mob of people who are breaking the law, walking in the street and banging on cars, that carrying a rifle strapped to your chest, with your face covered … is not a good idea.
Please join me in saying a prayer for the family of the victim. It sounds like his wife needs all the help she can get right now, especially if it is true that she is wheelchair bound and that he was her caretaker. Let’s keep praying for peace.
