Opinion Of Our Elder Patriot – ICYMI – July 2019 – And, for Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN), the hits just keep on coming. Not that anyone in the “Destroy Trump” media is going to tell you about them.
Yesterday we called attention Rep. Omar’s 2013 arrest on trespassing charges that resulted in her being booked into the Hennepin County Jail.
That came on the heels of these previous offenses that were never investigated:
–Evidence suggests Omar married her brother, most likely to skirt immigration law. Evidence of their marriage is sufficiently compelling that it warranted a full investigation. No investigation was conducted.
-There is sufficient evidence that she committed income tax fraud by filing a joint return with a second man who she was not married to. No investigation was conducted.
In a case that was investigated, The Minnesota Campaign Finance and Public Disclosure Board found that Rep. Omar committed six campaign finance violations.
That’s quite a record of lawlessness but Omar’s disregard for the law goes beyond even that. What? You thought she’d at least abide by Minnesota’s motor vehicle laws?
You’d be wrong.
(The Epoch Times) Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar was arrested for failing to show current driver registration during her 2018 congressional campaign, marking the latest in a pattern of traffic incidents that include an arrest for driving without a license and two apparent driver’s license suspensions…
…In the case of State of Minnesota vs. Ilhan Abdullahi Omar, filed on Oct. 25, 2018 in Hennepin County Criminal/Traffic/Petty Downtown court, Omar was convicted of Failure to Display Current Registration — Expired Plates, a petty misdemeanor.
Certainly this was just an oversight. Right? Afterall, it could happen to anyone. Right?
Omar was also convicted of a petty misdemeanor on Dec. 22, 2016 in the case State of Minnesota vs. Ilhan Abdullahi Omar, after she was found to have “Vehicle Registration Required.” In this case, there is no mention of expired license plates.
Oh… well she cleared that up quickly, right? Wrong again.
Omar failed to appear in court or pay her fine, prompting a second penalty that was sent to collections…
Okay, but those violations are so close together – if you consider violations two years apart to be related) that surely they stem from the same registration mixup.
Wrong again. More than four years prior to those violations Omar was convicted on similar charges.
On Oct. 12, 2012, Omar was convicted of a petty misdemeanor of speeding but days earlier her misdemeanor charge for driving with no Minnesota driver’s license had been dismissed. Omar initially failed to appear in court. Court records note that on June 8, 2012, a drivers license suspension request was sent to the Minnesota Department of Public Safety. Upon conviction, a drivers license reinstatement request was sent to the Department of Public Safety, indicating that Omar’s license was suspended in the interim.
Aside from minor violations for making an illegal right turn on red and disobeying a stop sign, violations that anyone can make, her drivers license had also been suspended on July 20, 2009.
It remained suspended until at least September 28, 2010, more than 14 months later.
If Ilhan Omar has no regard for the law because she’s never been held accountable to it, WTF are the people of Minnesota’s Fifth Congressional District sending her to Washington to write laws that the rest of us must live by?
She’s one of 435 members of the U.S. House of Representatives. Just imagine the possibilities…
When I came to this country as a refugee at 12 years old, I never imagined I would one day have the opportunity to preside over the most powerful government body in the world.
Grateful every day to get the opportunity to represent the 5th District of Minnesota in the House! ?? pic.twitter.com/HWGydf9j7c
