Kirsters Baish’s Opinion – ICYMI – House Judiciary Committee Chairman/Democratic Representative of New York Jerry Nadler issued an apology after repeatedly referring to former Trump White House aide Hope Hicks as “Ms. Lewandowski” while taking part in a closed-door interview this week.
According to the Hill, the “273-page transcript of Hicks’ testimony, which was released Thursday night, reveals that Nadler referred to her by the last name of former Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski, before apologizing. After she introduced herself at the start of the interview as ‘Hope Hicks,’ Nadler called her ‘Ms. Lewandowski’ three times before Hicks interrupted to correct him, according to the transcript.”
Nadler stated, “Yeah. Ms. Lewandowski, I think, in reading this —“
“My name is Ms. Hicks,” Hicks corrected him.
“I’m sorry, Ms. Hicks,” Nadler stated. “I’m preoccupied.”
Hicks spent almost eight hours on Wednesday testifying about her time working for the Trump White House, however according to the Hill, “White House lawyers repeatedly blocked her from answering lawmakers’ questions.”
Lawmakers pushed Hicks during the interview about Lewandowski’s relationship with the President during the 2016 presidential campaign and “whether Trump directed Lewandowski to deliver a script to Attorney General Jeff Sessions amid special counsel Robert Mueller’s probe into Russian interference in the 2016 election,” according to the Hill. “The script, which special counsel Robert Mueller’s team said Hicks typed up, directed Sessions to say Trump was ‘being treated very unfairly’ regarding the probe and that he would ‘meet with the special prosecutor to explain this is very unfair.'”
