Opinion Of Baish| Republican Senator Lindsey Graham isn’t messing around anymore.
He has come out demanding answers to the happenings surrounding the 2016 presidential election… you know, the ones that don’t have to do with allegations against President Donald Trump.
Graham isn’t just looking for answers to these questions, but he’s demanding that a special counsel be appointed to investigate them.
Conservative Tribune reports, “In a news conference on Monday, the South Carolina Republican said he intended to launch a probe into a number of Obama-era scandals, including the assembling of the Trump dossier, the investigation into Hillary Clinton’s private email server and surveillance on the Trump campaign, according to The Hill.”
“When it comes to the (Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act) warrant, the Clinton campaign, the counterintelligence investigation, it’s pretty much been swept under the rug,” Graham said to reporters.
He continued, “Those days are over.”
The Republican Senator also insisted that a special counsel be appointed.

Graham stated, “What I want to do is seek to appoint a special counsel.”
“I’d like to find someone like a Mr. Mueller that could look into what happened with the FISA warrant, what happened with the counterintelligence investigation.”
He went on to explain that the media widely ignored these issues, instead pushing the Trump-Russia collusion theory.
“The double standard here has been striking and quite frankly disappointing,” Graham stated, according to The Washington Times.
Graham also said he wants a fairly extensive list of witnesses to testify before the committee.
The most obvious would be Attorney General William Barr, whom Graham says he’ll call to testify as to the results of the Mueller investigation. Beyond that, however, he’s going to have some very interesting characters appearing before the committee if he has his way.
Another one of them? James Comey.
The former FBI director would have to answer for, among other things, his role in approving the foreign intelligence surveillance warrant against Trump campaign aide Carter Page and his relationship with former Attorney General Loretta Lynch during the Clinton email investigation.
With his title of Senate Judiciary Committee chairman, Senator Graham has the power to lead a probe. Attorney General William Barr would have to be the one to appoint a special counsel, however. The Senate Judiciary Committee does have the ability to recommend the appointment of a special counsel.
“You haven’t had much scrutiny, but that’s coming,” Graham stated.
He’s right on track with that statement. We’ve seen Washington continually point the finger at the Trump White House, essentially pushing the Russia collusion narrative without and evidence of it occurring. This has been going on since 2016.
Now that it has been revealed that Mueller’s report found no evidence of collusion, we need to talk about the things that took place when Obama was on his way out. It’s time to look into these matters. We need to look into the way Steele’s “dossier” was put together. That unverified dossier was used to obtain a FISA warrant; This must be looked into.
Conservative Tribune explains that “the odd evidentiary standard set by the Department of Justice in the Clinton investigation” must also be checked out, as well as “the fact that the Trump campaign appears to have been spied on by the FBI.”
