Opinion| Republican House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy of California has reportedly signed onto a resolution this week which is intended to censure Democratic House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff for a “parody” reading he did during a hearing last week of President Donald Trump’s phone call with President of the Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky.
Schiff says it was a parody, seeing as he never said it was until he got heat about it, it sounded more like me to be a fraud. But hey, that’s just like, my opinion, man.
Fox News reports that “McCarthy is now the most high-profile Republican to sign on to the resolution to censure Schiff that was introduced last Friday by Rep. Andy Biggs, the Arizona Republican who chairs the conservative House Freedom Caucus.”
The House Minority Leader tweeted, “Chairman Adam Schiff has been lying to the American people for years. Now he is so desperate to damage the president that he literally made up a false version of a phone call. Enough is enough.”
“I have signed a resolution to censure Schiff in the House of Representatives,” he added.

Via Fox News:
Schiff, who is leading one of the committees investigating Trump in the impeachment inquiry announced by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., has been under fire from conservatives for the “parody” of the president’s call with Zelensky that he read at the testimony last week of Acting Director of National Intelligence Joseph Maguire.
Maguire was on Capitol Hill to defend his handling of the explosive whistleblower complaint detailing how Trump pressured his Ukrainian counterpart to investigate the Biden family.
The complaint contains allegations related to Trump’s call with Zelensky in July, when he urged him to investigate alleged corruption involving former Vice President Joe Biden and his son, Hunter.
On Wednesday, the Trump administration released a version of the phone call transcript labeled as “unclassified.” Zelensky asked Trump for more military aid prior to Trump asking him to look into Joe Biden and his son, Hunter.
Schiff seemed to be reading off a paper when he gave his own version of the call saying, “I have a favor I want from you. And I’m going to say this only seven times, so you better listen good. I want you to make up dirt on my political opponent, understand? Lots of it, on this and on that.”
That sounds like defamation and fraud, in my opinion, but hey, I’m not a lawyer.
“My summary of the president’s call was meant to be at least, part, in parody,” Schiff insisted. “The fact that that’s not clear is a separate problem in and of itself. Of course, the president never said, ‘If you don’t understand me I’m going to say it seven more times,’ my point is, that’s the message that the Ukraine president was receiving in not so many words.”
The Democrat’s explanation of his outburst didn’t help his case among Republicans who had quickly jumped to defend Trump after Nancy Pelosi’s announcement of an impeachment inquiry last week.
“The chairman of the House Intelligence Committee read a statement that was blatantly false, had no corresponding evidence nor relationship to the actual transcript of President Trump’s telephone conversation with the Ukrainian president,” Representative Andy Biggs stated in a video posted to his Twitter account. “That is inexcusable,” he insisted.

Look, there are people in the Democratic party, like Schiffffffty, who have, IMHO, 0 integrity. They will do ANYTHING to anyone, as long as it benefits their cause, and by ‘their cause,’ I mean themselves. There are also some good people, I believe Tusli Gasbbard is a good person. I do not agree with all she says, but I think she is doing what SHE thinks is best, not what the people writing the checks tell her to say. Plus Google allegedly cen***** her, so she must be doing something right!
It’s time Schiff pay for his actions, he is tearing the nation apart, all based on lies. It’s not right and it’s not ok. He’s not helping anyone on the left, I am surprised they continue to stand by him. Here’s to hoping Schiff gets what’s coming to him, what every American deserves …. justice.
