In an appearance on Newsmax TV, 45th President Donald Trump once again bashed Fox News for what he views as anti-Trump coverage, something he says the network has veered into heavily since 2016.

President Trump also turned his attention to Chris Wallace, blasting him for his negative reporting, which he says makes Americans stop watching the cable news network.

Appearing on Newsmax TV last night, President Trump was asked about his feelings on Fox News. Host Dick Morris claimed, “an awful lot of Fox News viewers have stopped watching Fox and are now tuning into Newsmax,” and asked the 45th President for his thoughts on why.

“Well, Fox has been a lot different. And I think they’re coming back a bit,” said President Trump. “But Fox has certainly been a lot different than it’s been in 2016. One of the biggest differences in the election, even though I won 75 million votes, one of the biggest differences, which is far more than I won the first time when you think about it.” He added, “If you look at how Fox, how they did versus how they did in 2016, it was day and night. A big difference and people are very angry about it.”

Morris then asked about the presence of Paul Ryan on Fox News’s board, and about Chris Wallace, briefly mistakenly referring to him as Mike Wallace, the name of his veteran journalist father.

“No, he’d like to be Mike Wallace, that’s his father,” said President Trump. “That’s Chris Wallace.” President Trump added, “Yeah, he was disastrous. He was your basic disaster. He’s just a very negative guy. And the people don’t want to hear that. That’s why they tune out.”

Earlier this year, Fox News shifted its lineup and attempted to offer more pro-Trump hosts throughout the day after the formerly stalwart conservative network went from the number one ratings in cable news to the worst ratings in cable news during its coverage of the 2020 election.

Tucker Carlson Tonight has become the network’s top performing show more often than not, outpacing Hannity, which recently featured an interview with Caitlin Jenner.
