9/11 Families Warn Biden: Stay Away From Ground Zero/ 9/11 Memorials

Nearly 1,800 family members of 9/11 victims, first responders, and survivors have demanded that President Biden release September 11 documents or steer clear from attending any memorials this year.

In October 2020, while President Biden was still a candidate, he sent a letter to the group that pledged transparency about the September 11 terror attack. “I will direct my Attorney General to personally examine the merits of all cases where the invocation of privilege is recommended, and to err on the side of disclosure in cases where, as here, the events in question occurred two decades or longer ago.”

Members of the 9/11 community drafted a letter to request to President Biden to fulfill his campaign promise:

1) Authorize the release of all documents and information to the 9/11 community that our government has accrued in its investigation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (and which former FBI agents have sworn establishes the Kingdom’s role in 9/11) to allow us to rightfully obtain justice against the Kingdom.

2) Implement a policy toward the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia that makes clear it must acknowledge its role in terrorist attacks against our citizens and residents, which in the last 20 years include not just 9/11 but the horrific murder of Jamal Khashoggi, and the murder of U.S. service members in Pensacola, Florida; and, accordingly, immediately cease the Kingdom’s support for acts of terrorism.

This information may implicate the Saudi government in planning the terror attack that occurred on 9/11. The investigation, conducted by the FBI, was completed in 2016.

Unless Biden declassifies evidence from 9/11, the group has implored Biden to stay away from all memorials this year. This year is the 20th anniversary of the terror attack. The statement was first reported by NBC News. The news outlet reported that the last three administrations cited national security concerns in their reasoning to decline declassifying documentation.

I don't recall if Bill Clinton has attended 9-11 Memorial events.  Probably not. The media has been totally silent on the speech he gave less than two months after 9-11 in 2001.  Watching CSPAN in November of 2001, I happened to see Bill’s speech to Georgetown University on 8 Nov, less than two months after 9-11. Never a fan of Bill - just wondered what he would say.
He mentioned the 9-11 attacks “a tragedy,” then said he understood “..why they hate us. WE HAVE IT COMING (my caps). After all, look at what we did to them in the Crusades.”
The clueless college students cheered and applauded through it all.
As a lifelong student of history, somehow I missed the history lesson about Americans fighting in the Crusades, hundreds of years before our nation existed.
Of course, the US did not exist until hundreds of years later, so, Bill was saying that all of Western civilization, and especially America "has it coming" because of the crusades.
The media here never touched it, but it emboldened Al-Queda to keep calling Americans "crusaders." Dems and the media blame GW Bush for intelligence failures that otherwise might have prevented 9-11. There is a reason for intelligence failures prior to 9-11. Remember Jamie Gorelick?  Federal Agencies were sharing information as they assembled the case against the radical Muslims who bombed the WTC in 1993. As Deputy Attorney General in the Clinton DOJ, Jamie Gorelick, was outraged that the agencies were sharing information. She established and enforced the policy that prevented law enforcement and intelligence agencies from sharing leads and information, and specifically prohibited sharing information that involved any overseas connections. She tried, but was not successful in getting the case thrown out of court. Then, years later, as a member of as a member of the 9-11 Commission, she berated the same agencies for NOT sharing information that might have prevented the 9-11 attacks. Of course, the MSM did not call her out.
